Underhood sits an AMG M104.941 3.6 liter six with factory output of 276 HP at 5750 RPM and 284 lb. ft. of torque at 4000. Developed from a more pedestrian MB twin cam, changes included forged pistons, specific manifolds, cam profiles and more. Interestingly, AMG gave 276 as the baseline for HP, and claimed that up to ten more being available was attributable to the engines largely hand-assembled nature.
