Champion Motors International is offering this 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray which is believed to have only 40,381 miles. Originally purchased when it was Marlboro Maroon with a Tan interior and Tan soft top, it was treated to a complete body-off frame restoration by the experts in a well known and respected Corvette specialty shop in the mid-west. The frame and all related parts were disassembled, sandblasted and refinished. Each body panel was stripped to the bare fiberglass and checked for stress cracks or previous repairs (of which it didn't have either) and refinished in White. A new interior was installed in Red to complete the owner's request. We have photos of the restoration process from start to finish. Although the engine is not
numbers matching (a big block 454 was installed before our client owned it), it starts and runs beautifully with the first twist of the key. The 4 speed manual transmission shifts through the gears smoothly and the new side pipes sound incredible. If you are in the market for a Stingray convertible of this vintage, your search ends here.
